This space was designed for a large family. It is frequently used for family dinners, practicing piano, and hosting bible study. The client wanted a space that felt casual, fun, and also inviting. I chose a light color for the walls, removed the crown moulding, and replaced the formal chandelier with something more playful. Styles of furniture were mixed and matched within the space to give it more of an eclectic feel. I was also able to incorporate traditional sofas that the owner recently purchased before hiring me. By removing the bulky dining room furniture, switching out the carpet for hardwood, and adding in some fun colors I was able to take away the heaviness of the room and make it feel more relaxing for my clients and their guests.
