2022 ST. JUDE DREAM HOME

We are so excited to share with you all the finished 2022 St. Jude Dream Home in Republic, Missouri. The opportunity to partner with St. Jude on this incredible project was truly a privilege for our Refine Studios team. If you aren’t aware, St. Jude raffles off tickets where entries are entered in a giveaway to win a new-build Dream Home! There are over forty St. Jude Dream Homes across the country that have been built and raffled off. Every ticket sold goes towards winning one of these homes, and the money raised goes to St. Jude families who are experiencing pediatric cancer. Families receiving treatment at St. Jude’s never receive a bill for any medical expenses, housing costs, transportation, and food/groceries during their pediatric cancer treatment. St. Jude is one of the most incredible organizations.

Our Refine Studios team was beyond excited to work with King Built Properties on this project, as well as many incredible sponsors who we would like to showcase. This project was so fun to design and participate in from start to finish. Let’s get into it!

The St. Jude Dream Home was an opportunity for us as a design to think outside of the box and let our creativity shine. It’s rare that we design a home with no client, so we took advantage of the freedom to push some boundaries. 

Take this moody kitchen for  example- it makes our hearts beat just a bit faster!

We love the dark on dark tone with the cabinets and backsplash on the range wall. This could easily be intimidating to a client designing their own home, so we wanted to showcase how amazing this design could be. If you’ve been thinking about trying out a darker-toned kitchen, may this be your sign to do it!

This was possible to pull together with Twin Oaks Custom Cabinets, Brizo’s cabinet hardware, and Caesarstone US whose beautiful countertops were exactly what we were searching for!

The white tile on the sink wall provides a calming contrast while adding a subtle texture. We love the natural light bouncing around thanks to Shaw Floors. 

A kitchen is not a kitchen without plumbing fixtures and appliances, and they are impossible to miss in this kitchen! The brass sink faucet and pot filler that you might be drooling over (don’t worry… us too) was provided by Brizo Faucet. The faucet is their Luxe Gold LITZE® Pull-Down Faucet with Square Spout and Knurled Handle, and the Luxe Gold Linear Wall Mount Pot Filler. 

Bosch Home provided all of the beautiful 800 Series appliances, including this show-stopping 800 Series Built-in stainless steel Coffee Machine in the pantry.

Concepts By Design did an amazing job suiting up this house with a functional and beautiful custom pantry and move-in ready custom closets. Concepts By Design provides countless ways to customize any storage space from cabinets, countertops, and flooring, to fitted organization, accent lighting, shelves, and rails! 

For lighting, endless thanks to Kichler Lighting for illuminating this entire home! Their wide variety of fixtures did not disappoint, it just made the selection process a challenge. They really do have so many gorgeous options to choose from.

For the kitchen, we decided to veer from our comfort zone of using three pendants spaced out. We went with a cluster of six of Kichler’s Black Finish Independence 3 Light 24” Pendants to really create a statement in this space.

The front entry hall is dressed with one Alkire Semi-Flush Mount and two Imahn 1 Light 7 inch Black Wall Bracket Wall Lights.

To create dimension on the sides of the front entry, the study and guest bedroom #1 we went with matching Brushed Natural Brass Baland 12 Light 31” Chandeliers. We also could not be happier with how these White and Brass Sylvia 2 Light 17.5” Wall Sconces turned out with the wall molding detail. Imagine a late-night read in bed cozied up to those lights?! Absolute magic. 

The plumbing fixtures in guest bathroom #1 are from the Jason Wu line provided by Brizo. They also provided the hardware in this room!

The powder bathroom is hands down the most playful room in the home! These amazing Pearl Revival Isabella tiles on all the walls and the Coolidge White Matte Penny Round tiles on the floors provided by Shaw Floors are the perfect mix of classic and fun. 

Brizo kindly contributed the faucet and hardware in this room as well. The Luxe Steel Wall Mount Faucet is from the Levoir line. The Luxe Steel Towel Bar and Tissue Holder is from Brizo’s Litze line.

We went with the Erzo 8 Light 35.5” Chandelier in Natural Brass from Kichler Lighting in both the living room and dining area to keep the open space cohesive.  

We’ve been dying to complete a modern full quartz fireplace surround like this one. I mean, what’s not to love? Initially, when designing this wall we were brainstorming if we should add anything else above it. With no regrets, we decided to wrap all three walls with the Shaw flooring used throughout the home. One of the best ways to add interest is to use products in unexpected ways. This same flooring was used on the range hood as well as the ceiling in the entry. 

We also continued the wood flooring up the wall behind the mudroom bench. This provided some much needed durability in a high-traffic area. Plus it adds some dimension and texture!

Those beautiful Shaw Floors don’t end with the wood flooring. Shaw also provided all the tile for this project. This mosaic tile made such a statement in the primary bathroom. One of our favorite tips for making a space look more luxurious and grand is taking backsplash tiles all the way up to the ceiling. These tiles are Shaw’s Chateau – Bianco Carrara Herringbone Mosaic. 

 ProSource Wholesale of Springfield did a great job with this painted sage custom vanity that provides the ultimate organization and storage.

Let’s head up to the second level!

A stairwell does not have to be a boring area- it is a perfect opportunity to add a bit of personality. Dressing up a stair landing by adding a focus wall of simple molding, sconces, or art makes all the difference. The future homeowner will see this area daily, so why not make it feel unique and grand too? Kichler’s Natural Brass Trentino Wall Sconces were the perfect fit for an area with such tall ceilings.

Last but certainly not least is the upper level jack and jill style bathroom. This vanity wall is definitely different from any other guest bathroom we’ve put together! We took these Sandbar Islander Square Tiles By Shaw Floors from the floor all the way up the vanity wall. The distressing and texture of these tiles add so much dimension and character to this space.

The black wall-to-wall ProSource vanity breaks up all of the light tones and anchors the room. 

Of course, the Kichler Champagne Gold Brettin Fixtures are such a cool spin on vanity lights. Not only are they extremely functional, but act as the jewelry of this wall.
